Sergeant Jasper Award

Purpose


The purpose of this award is to recognize the major subordinate command of the South Carolina National Guard which has attained the highest membership percentage in the National Guard Association of South Carolina.


Eligibility


All major subordinate commands of the South Carolina National Guard are eligible.


Criteria


A major subordinate command of the South Carolina National Guard must have the highest membership percentage in the National Guard Association of South Carolina.


Nomination and Selection Procedures


Membership percentages for all major subordinate commands shall be computed by the National Guard Association office staff as of 45 calendar days prior to the National Guard Association of South Carolina conference. The number of members in units shall be taken from the official strength reports, less deployed and Initial Entry Training (IET) Soldiers, of the Army and Air National Guard for 45 calendar days prior to the National Guard Association of South Carolina conference. The Association’s membership total shall be taken from the NGASC records. These final computations will then be given to the NGASC Awards Committee, which shall make the nominations and selections of winners. The awards shall be presented at the annual conference.
