Dear Current & Future Members, 

The National Guard Association of South Carolina (NGASC) was formed to promote the welfare of our  National Guard personnel. We are here to represent you and your family! 

The NGASC continues to represent all of South Carolina’s Army and Air National Guard members, actively  drilling and retired. Because of our efforts, in conjunction with our TAG, now your military retiree pay is  exempt from SC taxes!! We are still working to protect your drill pay from being taxed and have requested  money to refurbish and repair armories. We continue to request funds to keep all aircraft and equipment  updated. We offer supplemental insurances, including a free $1000.00 death benefit for ALL actively  drilling members. Additionally, there are opportunities for assistance & college scholarships through South  Carolina College Assistance Program. 

Current Priorities that are important to YOU: 

• Tricare for all our Troops- this will authorize ALL National Guard and Reserve Members access to  Tricare Reserve Select, including members in Technician status. 
• The Major Richard Star Act- Medically retired Veterans will be approved to collect both their  Retirement Pay AND their VA Disability pay, regardless of time in service. 
• Affordable Health Care for Gray Area Troops- Provides the same health care coverage to retirees  that qualify for the gray area early are retirement. 
• Survival Benefit Plan- This is being changed to benefit you, and we will keep you updated on  these changes. 

The best financial option for membership is a lifetime membership! 

• NGASC LIFETIME- $100 vs $200 annual (20yrs active + 20yrs retired= 40 X$5.00= $200.00) • EANGUS LIFETIME- $130 vs $520.00 annual (20yrs active + 20yrs retired= 40 x $13.00= $520.00) • NGAUS ACTIVE LIFETIME- $1000.00 or Digital LIFETIME- $500.00 vs $1825.00 annual average  over 20 years + $125.00 retired life membership
