Frank Kendall III Nominated as 26th Secretary of the Air Force

The Biden administration nominated Frank Kendall III, who advised Biden on national security and military issues during the presidential campaign, to be the 26th Secretary of the Air Force. Kendall is the former Pentagon acquisition, sustainment and logistics czar, who led a multiyear effort at revamping the department’s buying system to be quicker and produce better products. Also nominated as undersecretary is Gina Ortiz Jones, a former Air Force intelligence officer and member of the U.S. Trade Representative office under the Trump administration.
