Senators Push for Early Retirement Credit for 12304(b) Missions

Nine senators are pushing congressional leaders from both sides of the political aisle to support a measure that would provide early retirement credit for National Guardsmen and Reservists mobilized under the authority 12304(b).

Sen. Christopher A. Coons, D-Conn., authored a letter to the chairman and ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee urging support for the benefits. Others who signed onto the letter include Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va.; Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine; Sen. Mike Crapo, R-Idaho; Sen. Tina Smith, D-Minn.; Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn.; Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H.; Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D.; and Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont.
