EANGUS Announces Selection of Matthew Krenz as next Executive Director
Washington, DC – Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Karen M. Craig, President of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS), is pleased to announce the selection of Sergeant Major Matthew Krenz as its next Executive Director.
Sergeant Major Krenz will join the EANGUS National Office team on March 24, 2021 upon his retirement from the National Guard. Sergeant Major Krenz is a Life Member of the association and has devoted the last 26 years in service to the U.S. Army and Army National Guard (ARNG). He comes to us from the National Guard Bureau (NGB) where he currently works as the Human Resources Director (ARNG G1 Sergeant Major). He has held positions of increasing responsibility throughout his military career and previously worked in the NGB Legislative Liaison (LL) Office from March 2016 to June 2019 as the Government Affairs Manager and primary liaison responsible for direct interactions with Congressional Members and staff regarding Army National Guard personnel issues. SGM Krenz holds a Masters degree in Business Administration, a Bachelors degree in Management and Administration, and a Graduate Certificate in Legislative Affairs from Georgetown University Government Affairs Institute.
In announcing his selection, President Craig said, “Matt comes to us with a wealth of experience on the Hill and in the Guard. He possesses the business acumen, operational and strategic leadership, and knowledge of the association to lead our National Office and serve our membership in an outstanding manner. As a military Veteran, he is intimately knowledgeable about the issues that National Guard members and their families face.”
EANGUS would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to SGM (Ret) Frank Yoakum for his outstanding service as our Executive Director for almost five years; his last day with us will be November 30, 2020. Our National Office staff remain committed to supporting our membership and will take on additional duties in the interim until Sergeant Major Krenz joins our team in March.
